New River CTC Offering Surface Mining Class in Nicholas County

SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. (WVDN) — New River Community and Technical College will offer a 40-Hour Surface Mining course, including First Aid and CPR training, beginning January 26 and ending February 6 at the Nicholas County Campus.

The course is designed to prepare students for the state certification exam, which will be administered at the state office following completion.

The 40-Hour Surface Mining class will be held Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Classes will be taught by Robert Summers, an experienced instructor with years of industry and teaching experience. Summers will provide students with valuable insight into safety practices and job expectations for those entering the mining field.

Tuition for the 40-Hour Surface Mining class is $175.
