WEST VIRGINIA (WVDN) – As part of its Homecoming celebrations, West Virginia University Institute of Technology has announced the newest class of Golden Bear Athletic Hall of Fame inductees for 2026.

This year’s inductees are Marty Wiesler ’07, John Walters ’14, and Nia Nolan ’15.

Marty Wiesler ’07 grew up in the greater St. Louis area before moving to Paw Paw, West Virginia, where he attended Paw Paw High School and played every sport the school offered. Wiesler joined the WVU Tech baseball team in 2002 and went on to have a stellar collegiate career. During his senior season, he finished No. 1 in the nation in innings pitched per game and recorded two no-hitters against UVA Wise and Marshall University. He currently works for the energy company NiSource and lives in Athens, Ohio, with his wife, Cortney Wiesler, a fellow WVU Tech alumna and former Golden Bear soccer standout.

John Walters ’14 was an Air Force brat who settled in Camden, Delaware, before coming to WVU Tech and joining the Golden Bear wrestling team. Walters competed across multiple weight classes, earning numerous tournament victories and conference titles. He finished his senior season with a 26–8 record and qualified for the NAIA National Tournament. After graduating with a degree in Athletic Coaching Education, he earned a master’s degree in Sport Administration from Delaware State University and currently serves in the United States Air Force Reserve with the 512th Memorial Affairs Squadron at Dover Air Force Base as a fitness assessment specialist.

Nia Nolan ’15, a Dayton, Ohio, native, came to Tech as a walk-on point guard. During her career with the Golden Bears, Nolan set program records as the all-time leading scorer and top assist provider. She earned All-American honors and was also recognized as an Academic All-American. After graduating from Tech, Nolan became a coach at the middle school and high school levels and recently earned her LPN degree.

Complete biographies of the 2026 Hall of Fame inductees are available at goldenbearathletics.com. The inductees will be honored at the Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet in February. The full Homecoming schedule is available at homecoming.wvutech.edu.
