CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVDN) – Governor Patrick Morrisey issued the following statement upon hearing of the passing of former State Senator Larry Edgell:

“I was saddened to learn of the passing of former State Senator Larry Edgell. Senator Edgell devoted nearly two decades of his life to serving the people of West Virginia, representing his community with integrity, humility, and a steadfast commitment to the public good.

“A proud veteran, educator, and legislator, he exemplified the very best of public service. Whether in the classroom, in uniform, or in the halls of the Capitol, he worked tirelessly to expand opportunity and improve the lives of others. His legacy of service to the Mountain State will be long remembered.

“My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. Please join me in honoring Senator Edgell’s life, service, and lasting contributions to West Virginia.”
