A Lewisburg man was arrested for domestic battery and brandishing a deadly weapon.
Brett Michael Sheppard was arrested after an incident on July 3.
According to the criminal complaint, officers were dispatched by Greenbrier County 911 to a home in Lewisburg. In the initial call to the 911 Center, “dispatch stated that they could hear what sounded like a domestic type situation between a male and female and could hear what sounded like slapping noises.”
Officers arrived on the scene and detained Sheppard after he “refused to comply and became combative towards” the officers.
A victim stated Sheppard had “hit” them multiple times “during the day, slapping” their face, “pushing” them down and against a wall. In addition, Sheppard allegedly “had a rifle which he pointed” at them, “threatening to kill” them.
After the incident, Sheppard was charged with five misdemeanor offenses, including two counts of obstructing an officer, brandishing deadly weapons, domestic battery, and domestic assault.
Sheppard is currently being held at Southern Regional Jail in Beckley with a cash-only $15,000 bond.
