Charleston, W.Va. (WVDN) — Governor Patrick Morrisey announced that the application for the West Virginia Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Fund is available to the public, inviting West Virginians, healthcare providers, community partners, and educators to learn more about the most ambitious rural health reform effort in the state’s history.

“West Virginia is ready to lead the nation in rural health innovation,” said Governor Morrisey. “By releasing this application to the public, communities and stakeholders can see firsthand how they can participate in this historic investment to shape the future of healthcare in our state.”

As part of the funding made available through President Trump’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill,’ West Virginia stands to receive more than $500 million to reshape how healthcare is delivered across the state. The application was developed through broad stakeholder engagement, including public input, roundtables, and a statewide tele-townhall with more than 17,000 participants.

“This is more than an application, it is a blueprint for transforming rural healthcare,” said Governor Morrisey. “By focusing on the fundamentals, we are creating a system that works for families, strengthens our workforce, and positions West Virginia as a national model for rural health transformation.”
