GREENBRIER COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – Do you like gardening? Do you want to give back to the community? Do you want to sharpen your skills and learn more? Become a Master Gardener.

Master Gardeners are volunteers who are trained in research-based small-scale food production, horticulture and gardening through a training course.

The Greenbrier Valley Master Gardener Program has announced its 2026 training sessions. The classes begin Jan. 8, 2026, and continue through May 14, 2026. They are a combination of in-person and online.

There will be a total of 18 horticultural classes, and a complete schedule will be available in January 2026. A wide variety of topics are included in the training, such as plant propagation, wildlife management and native plants.

The program helps residents better understand horticultural and environmental issues through community engagement in gardening and beautification projects at schools, parks, public institutions, community organizations and locations throughout Greenbrier County.

For further information and to sign up, call the Greenbrier County Extension Office at 304-647-7408. The contact is Mary Dameron.
