CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVDN) — Gregory A. Watt of Hacker Valley became the newest member of the West Virginia House of Delegates Wednesday, Oct. 15.
Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Judge Michael Asbury administered the oath of office while the new Delegate’s wife Sherry held a Bible.
Watt, a retired U.S. Army officer with 28 years of active-duty service and more than 16 years in defense contracting and program management, was appointed to represent the 48th Delegate District, which includes parts of Webster and Greenbrier counties. He will complete the unexpired term of former Delegate Tom Clark, R-Webster.
Watt has a BBA from State University of New York at Fredonia, an MBA from Webster University and he completed advanced military education through the Joint Forces Staff College and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He currently serves as Director of Programmatic Solutions Architecture for JANUS Research Group, and said he wants to serve as a legislator to make a difference in West Virginia.
