PRINCETON- The Greenbrier West Cavaliers cross country team raced at the PikeView Invitational in Princeton on Saturday, October 11.
Facing a strong field and the rolling hills of the PikeView course, the Cavaliers continued to show steady progress as the postseason approaches.
Coach Christian Walkup praised his runners for their effort and teamwork throughout the challenging layout. The meet gave the Cavaliers another chance to fine-tune pacing and strategy against quality competition.
Junior Jesse Walkup continues with excellence on the course bringing a ninth-place finish with a time of 18:58.1 following shortly behind finishing 18th.
Senior Elijah Russell took a time of 19:57.0 on his toes finishing 22nd while Junior Dominic Mandeville set a new PR finishing 20:09.7 and freshman Gabriel Keaton improved his time, setting a new PR of 31:22.9, placing 61st.
Greenbrier West will look to carry the momentum from PikeView into their next meet Wednesday October 13th at Twin Falls State Park hosted by Wyoming East High School in the Coalfield Conference XC Championship as they prepare for regional competition on Saturday October 25th.
