CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVDN) – Governor Patrick Morrisey announced the appointment of Gregory A. Watt of Hacker Valley to represent the 48th District in the West Virginia House of Delegates.

Watt is a retired U.S. Army officer with 28 years of active duty service and more than 16 years in defense contracting and program management. He currently serves as Director of Programmatic Solutions Architecture for JANUS Research Group, where he supports military modernization and technology integration. He has held senior roles supporting the U.S. Army Futures Command, TRADOC, and other national defense priorities.

“Greg Watt is a battle-tested leader who understands service, sacrifice, and getting things done,” said Governor Morrisey. “His deep experience in national defense, organizational leadership, and strategic planning will bring valuable perspective to the Legislature and serve the citizens of the 48th District well.”

He holds an MBA from Webster University and a BBA from State University of New York at Fredonia, and he completed advanced military education through the Joint Forces Staff College and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.

Watt will be sworn in and begin his service in the coming days.
