IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER
MONITORING REQUIREMENTS NOT MET FOR
LEWISBURG, WV3301307
We are required to monitor your drinking water on a regular basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards. Between 6/14/2021and PRESENT we exceeded the maximum allowable turbidity limit of 1 NTU and therefore cannot be sure of the quality of our drinking water.
What should I do?
- Due to the potential health risks, it is advised to boil your water until further notice. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water. If you have specific health concerns, consult your doctor.
- If you have a severely compromised immune system, have an infant, are pregnant, or are elderly, you may be at increased risk and should seek advice from your health care providers about drinking this water. General guidelines on ways to lessen the risk of infection by microbes are available from EPA’s Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1-800-426-4791.
