Kay Moss Hardesty
Born 1/19/1940
D.O.D. 7/20/2025

Born in Parkersburg, WV, was a beautiful baby girl; she became a smart little tomboy who loved all, but especially her dog, “Tiny”. She worked in Lewisburg Wholesale with her dad and the employees who guarded her, went on deliveries, and stole the energy wherever she went.

Kay went to Lewisburg Elementary through to Lewisburg High School as the Class of 1957! She attended Marshall University, sorority sisters of Alpha Z Delta were so special to her, then graduated Spring of 1960 with a business degree.

She was the daughter of the late Manassa T (M.T.) and Nelverna Lawrence Moss. Kay was proceeded in death by the love of her life, Ronald F. Hardesty, her husband; and by David Moss, her brother.

She was a dedicated member of Shuck Memorial Baptist Church in Lewisburg and a member of American Baptist Women. She managed Fairlea Lanes, while teaching many to bowl, from kids to seniors, while she drove many to tournaments. She had girl scouts, was a member of Eastern Star, CEOS (community service), Business & Professional Women’s Club, and part of Red Hats. Kay owned and managed the H&R Block, until her retirement in 2001, with integrity and trust.

Survivors include Ronda K. Edmond, Debra Hardesty, Suzanne Hardesty-Oster and son, Ronald F Hardesty, Jr.; six grandchildren, Tyler Edmond (wife, Mindy), Elizabeth K Edmond, Christian Oster, Sarah Edmond (fiancée, Tanner), Ava Hardesty (fiancée, Korin), and Ezra Hardesty. She also had 5 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Shuck Memorial Church Deacons’ Fund at 304-645-6130, 841 Washington St. West, Lewisburg, WV 24901.

Kay lived with poise, dignity, honesty, and a great sense of humor. Her biggest wish was that at the end of her life, God would say to her… “Good job, my child.”
