FRANKFORD W.Va. (WVDN) – The Ladies of the Henning Church of God held their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 1, in the church fellowship hall. Carole Spencer presided and Angie Scott led in prayer. The ladies provided the following report.
Dyan Hefner presented the devotion, “Stand tall with grace, a flamingo devotion.” Flamingos stand on one leg primarily to conserve body heat and reduce muscle fatigue. We can stand tall in God’s strength with unwavering faith, courage, and integrity. Stand tall with courage and conviction. We need to stand up for what is right, even if it is not popular, and have strong convictions with no compromise. There are times when we will be challenged. Jesus was the perfect example of standing tall and holding strong in adversity. He took on our sins when he was crucified. He was standing tall in integrity and righteousness. We need to live life in God’s convictions. (I John 4:18) You need to embrace your color. A flamingo is pink because of its diet. We need to use our God given gifts. Divine food is God’s love, word and living by the word and community. No matter what happens, when we live by God’s word, it gives us our color. The community is our church and the area where we live. (Psalms 131:3) We need unity with God’s community, all working together. We need to agree and love each other. It makes the world go around. We need to walk in beauty. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) There is beauty in time. We need to walk in elegance. Even when we go through muddy paths, we can emerge with beauty. We need to stand with confidence, stand tall, walk beautifully and walk in beauty. We need to agree and get the job done. We are all different and need to get along despite our differences.
Barb Seldomridge presented our missionary education report. We had learned about Tim and Jen Adams previously and made a donation to their ministry. They are missionaries thru global strategy to SE Asia and the Pacific. They have been living in the Philippines and have moved to Thailand in April 2025 with the help of many partners and prayer warriors. In Thailand, they can reach out to communities better. They are learning how to get around, buy groceries, and take Thai language classes. Their children belong to a kids’ group and a youth group. Our group helped support these missionaries and help them move so they could spread the word to other countries. We should be thankful for missionaries all over the world who are brave enough to stand up for the Lord. We need to pray for their mission and service for the Lord.
Jamie Harvey gave the treasurer’s report, and Pauline Perkins read last month’s minutes.
The group voted to give money to the church to help pay for the new commercial refrigerator, freezer and stove for the kitchen. The group will provide food for dinner after the final vacation bible school program.
The next meeting will be on August 5 and Carole Spencer dismissed in prayer.
