Six sex offenders were arrested on eleven charges after a joint effort led by the West Virginia State Police (WVSP) Rainelle detachment.
According to WVSP Sgt. Steven A. Murphy, during the month of May, officers with the Rainelle Detachment conducted compliance checks on all registered sex offenders in the area. After completion, officers obtained warrants on the sex offenders in violation.
On Thursday, June 3, along with F/Sgt. Evans and Corporal Mann with the Lewisburg detachment of the WVSP and Deputy Hyatt with the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department, officers with the WVSP Rainelle detachment served said warrants leading to the arrest of the individuals. One offender was out of town and will be arrested upon his return.
