RAINELLE W.Va. (WVDN) – A newly remodeled Airbnb along the Meadow River Trail is welcoming guests with a fresh look, rustic charm, and easy access to one of southern West Virginia’s most scenic rail trails.
Located in the heart of Rainelle, the Meadow River Trail bed and breakfast re-opened this month after undergoing a full renovation aimed at improving comfort while preserving the character of the region. The property sits just steps away from the Meadow River Rail Trail, a 23-mile route stretching from Rainelle to Nallen, known for its biking, hiking and river views.
Owners say the remodel included updates to flooring, fixtures, and furniture, as well as new appliances and high-speed internet, a mix of modern convenience and mountain hospitality.
“We wanted to create a space that feels like home, but still lets you unplug and enjoy the outdoors,” said the owners. “Being right off the Meadow River Trail gives guests a unique connection to nature as you can walk out the front door and be on the trail in seconds.”
Originally a family home, the bed and breakfast now features bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy living area with locally crafted décor.
Local officials see the rental as part of a growing effort to boost tourism and small business along the Meadow River corridor.
The Meadow River Rail Trail has seen increased traffic since trail surface improvements and signage upgrades began in recent years. The trail weaves through scenic forestland and runs parallel to the Meadow River, attracting cyclists, runners, and wildlife watchers alike.
The Airbnb is now available for booking on major rental platforms. The owners said they’ve already received reservations from travelers in Virginia, Ohio, and as far as North Carolina.
