REYNOLDS

Wilma June Reynolds, 91, of Lewisburg, WV went to be with the Lord Friday, May 7, 2021 at the home of her daughter in Montrose, WV.

Born March 21, 1930 in Montgomery, WV, she was the daughter of the late Emmerson Preston and Pearl Gladys Ridgeway Brown. Wilma was raised in the Davis Stuart group home in Lewisburg from the age of five until her marriage to the love of her life for over seventy-two years, the late, James Keith “Jim” Reynolds.

Wilma had worked for Stouffer’s Frozen Foods in Ohio. She went on to own Wilma’s Yarn and Crafts and was always a homemaker. Wilma was a member of the Frankford United Methodist Church and had served as Lewisburg District President and Vice President of the United Methodist Women and was also a Lay Speaker. She was the only woman to serve as President and Vice President without a college degree.

Wilma wrote numerous religious plays and dramas and performed them all over West Virginia, Wisconsin, Virginia, and Washington. The Methodist Church established the Wilma Drama Award in her honor. Second to God, above all things, her family was her priority.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers; four sisters; son-in-law, Donald Wright; and great-grandson, Gage Wright.

Survivors include one son, James Keith Reynolds Jr. (LaDonna) of Lewisburg, WV; daughters, Reita Kay Beebe (Charles) of Clarksville, TN, Linda Faye Wright of Marshfield, WI, and Lelia Mae Reynolds (Dennis Wegman) of Montrose, WV; brother, Franklin Denver Brown of Yankton, SD; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews; and many friends.

It was Wilma’s wish to be cremated. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel – 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV with Pastor Kevin Hostetler and Pastor Peter Scott officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Ronceverte, WV.
