HINTON- The Central Greenbrier Little League 8–10-year-old all-star team made quick work of the Hinton All-stars on Monday, June 16 in Hinton.

A huge third inning that saw CGLL put 11 runs on the scoreboard was the difference in their 19-3 victory.

After falling behind 2-0 in the top of the first inning, CGLL answered with four runs of their own in the bottom half. Beckett M drew a walk and Colt C reached on an error by the Hinton second baseman. Then, following two consecutive outs, CGLL drew four consecutive walks, scored on a couple passed balls, and took a 4-2 lead after one without getting a single hit.

The boys from Greenbrier County kept it rolling in the second as well. With one out, Aiden K singled to left then Tucker C walked. Beckett M then reached on a single and Colt C followed that up with a massive 2-run triple that put Central Greenbrier up 7-3 at that point.

That score would remain after two innings of play.

In the decisive third inning that put the mercy rule in effect, CG had five base hits, drew five walks, and had two players get hit by a pitch. Those plays and all the runs scored helped Central Greenbrier seal the deal as they came back home with an early 1-0 record.

Colt C (2-3, 3 runs, 3 RBIs), Wyatt B (2-2, run, 2 RBIs), Sam S (2-3, run, 2 RBIs), and Aiden K (2-2, run) all had multiple hits for CG. Maddix D and Keenan A combined to pitch three innings of no-hit baseball with six strikeouts and six walks.

CG 8-10 all-stars will face the Beckley Minor all-stars on Tuesday, June 17.
