PRINCETON, W.Va. — Evan McDade pitched four innings of one-hit shutout baseball and every Greenbrier West starter had at least one hit Thursday in an 8-1 win over PikeView.
The victory lifted the Cavaliers to 4-2 on the season.
McDade struck out 10 and didn’t walk a PikeView hitter, before giving way to relievers Chase McClung and Kyle Holliday.
McClung gave up four hits and one run in two innings, while Holliday pitched around two hits in a shutout seventh.
Chase McClung and Chase Franklin both had two hits and two RBI to lead the 13-hit West offensive attack.
Brayden McClung and McDade also had two hits, while Josh Jones, Cole McClung, Matt Mills, Kyle Holliday and Ty Nickell had one apiece.
The Cavaliers play at Summers County on Monday and at Wyoming East on Wednesday before hosting Shady Springs on Thursday.
