The Greenbrier East Lady Spartans celebrated an early senior night on Tuesday, May 4 in front of fans, family and friends.
After the pregame ceremonies and some speeches from the senior girls, Taylor Graham came ready to play. She did not allow a single run as the Spartans defeated Pikeview 15-0. Graham allowed just one hit.
In the first inning, East got their offense started when Lindsey Black doubled on a 3-1 count and brought Graham across home plate who had singled earlier in the frame. Olivia Plybon also hit a home run that scored Black and broke the contest wide open.
East tallied seven runs in the third inning. Aubrey Glover, Josi Ervin, Graham, Black, and Plybon all had RBI’s in the inning.
Madison Dowell took the loss for Pikeview. The Bulldog lasted three and a third innings and allowed 11 hits and all 15 runs.
The Spartans (7-1) totaled 11 hits in the game.
Annabelle Honaker, Plybon, Black and Graham managed two hits to lead the East Spartans. Josie Patterson led the East Spartans with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases. Plybon had four RBI’s, Black had three and Josi Ervin knocked in two.
Samantha Lyons led Pikeview with one hit in two at-bats.
