CHARLESTON- It was like Deja vu in Charleston last weekend for the state track meet as Greenbrier West’s Isaac Agee stole the show again and repeated as the Class A 110m hurdles champ. Agee completed his event in 14.57 seconds and led every participant, regardless of classification, on the day.
In fact, Agee set a state meet record and will now be in the history books for years to come.
His Cavalier teammates, Brandon Poticher (15.72) and Colton Dunbar (16.10), finished third and sixth, respectively, and proved to the rest of the state that Greenbrier West track is as strong as any school in Class A.
Those three plus Randy Keener also showed out in the 4×100 Shuttle Hurdles and won a state title with a state meet record time of 58:43. Watching the video online from an aerial point of view shows it was one of the more dominant performances of the day for Greenbrier West.
Keener also placed second in the state in discus, and just like a broken record from this year, set the Cavalier school record in the process with a throw of 143-01.
On the girls’ side of things, West’s Shy Perkins ran to a seventh-place finish in the 100m to cap what was an incredible year for her.
The West boys placed sixth overall with 47 points for the weekend and the Lady Cavs tied for 21st with six points.
It was another great year for the West track team. They will look for repeat performances next spring when they are back in action.
