New River CTC PTA Program to Host Community Education Event on Pelvic Floor Health

BEAVER W.Va. (WVDN) – The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program at New River Community and Technical College, in collaboration with the PTA Club, will host a Community Education Event on Thursday, April 24, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The event will take place in Room R127 at the Raleigh County Campus located at 280 University Drive Beaver, WV 25813. A Zoom link will also be available for those who wish to attend virtually.

The featured speaker for the event is Dr. Eleanor Wiseman, DPT, of Turner Physical Therapy. Dr. Wiseman is a pelvic floor specialist who will present on a range of pelvic floor health topics. Her presentation will include information on common diagnoses such as incontinence, pelvic pain, musculoskeletal issues related to pregnancy, and post-operative conditions involving the prostate and bladder. Attendees will gain valuable insights into how physical therapy can help manage and treat these conditions.

This educational event is open to students, faculty, staff, and community members who are interested in learning more about the role of physical therapy in addressing pelvic floor concerns. Dessert and snacks will be provided for in-person attendees.
