The Courthouse Farmers Market is returning for another season at the WV State Fairgrounds.
Josh Peplowski, agriculture and natural resource agent at the Greenbrier County WVU Extension Service, said opening day for the popular market will take place on Saturday, April 17, from 8 a.m. until noon.
About 12-15 vendors selling a variety of goods including lamb, pork, greens, eggs and more will set up in the free parking lot area of the fairgrounds, Peplowski said.
Because of Covid, more people have become interested in eating local foods, Peplowski continued. As a result, the market continues to grow. This year, the market will feature new vendors.
“I think this season will be better than ever before,” Peplowski added.
Additionally, customers can visit the Courthouse Farmers Market Facebook page to see local vendors, reach out to them and place orders for items.
A menu will be placed on the group’s page as soon as possible, Peplowski noted.
The Courthouse Farmers Market is organized by members of the WVU Extension office, the Greenbrier County Commission and others.
The market will take place every Saturday until the season ends in October.
