RONCEVERTE W.Va. (WVDN) – Ronceverte native, Kim Erskine, invites everyone to a community-focused and family-friendly event, Cookies with the Candidate, on Saturday, April 26, 1-5 p.m. at the Riverside Amphitheater on the Ronceverte Island Park. The gathering celebrates community togetherness, local musical talent and voter education, all while encouraging meaningful conversations about the future of Ronceverte.

The event highlights community collaboration, featuring live music by talented local musicians MA’AM, Haley Burns, and Nathan Seldomridge, along with free locally made cookies from several small West Virginia bakeries. When Pigs Fly will be on site, serving up their famous pulled-pork BBQ and hot dogs, available for purchase throughout the event.

Kim Erskine for Ronceverte’s campaign theme, “A United Ronceverte for A Stronger Future,” serves as the foundation for this gathering, emphasizing inclusivity and community connection. A special feature of the event is a voter registration station, run by volunteers, to assist citizens in checking their voter registration status or registering to vote. While the Ronceverte municipal election is on Tuesday, June 3, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, checking or updating your registration status at the event is beneficial for any upcoming municipal election throughout West Virginia.

“Community support knows no city limits,” Kim Erskine shared. “Whether you live in Ronceverte, just outside of town, or in a neighboring community, you’re welcome to join us. This event is all about coming together, celebrating what makes our area special, and making sure everyone’s voice is heard. I’m excited to meet new friends and greet familiar faces as we work together toward a stronger future for Ronceverte.”

The event is open to all, regardless of residence. Attendees are encouraged to get involved by spreading the word, following and sharing the campaign’s Facebook page at Erskine for Ronceverte, or donating resources for the event. Those who wish to contribute to the campaign’s vision can provide financial support via Venmo (@Kim-Erskine-2) or by check (228 Elm St.), or learn about other ways to support the movement.

For Kim Erskine, community-focused leadership and transparency are at the core of her vision. As a candidate dedicated to collaboration, positive growth, and building a brighter future, she looks forward to engaging with citizens directly and hearing their thoughts on how to build a stronger, united Ronceverte.

Mark your calendars for April 26 and join us at Cookies with the Candidate.
