DUNBAR
Roy Marshall Dunbar, age 85, passed away on February 28, 2021 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV, after a short illness.
Born March 23, 1935 in Gap Mills, WV, he was the son of the late O’Zella Edna Bostic Dunbar Fisher and Robert Clark Dunbar.
Marshall served in the US Army and retired from Climax Manufacturing in Castorland, NY after 35 years. He spent most of his young adult life in New York, but moved back to West Virginia about 21 years ago. Marshall loved his family, friends, hunting, and fishing.
In addition to his parents and step-father, Ralph Fisher, he was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Dunbar and his wife, Dawn; a sister, Shirley Fisher and her husband, Frank; his first wife, Betty Jean Sweeney; second wife, Joan Ann Illingsworth; a daughter, Mary Dunbar Groves; and step-sons, Christopher (Jake) Davis and Sandy (Simon) Davis.
Those left to cherish his memory are his longtime companion, Iona (Inie) Davis of Lewisburg, WV; a sister, Hazel Richards of Zenith, WV; a daughter, Patricia Dunbar and Kevin of Melbourne, FL; a son, Rex Dunbar of New York; step-children, Paul and Tim Illingsworth, and Doug Woolschlager of New York, Debra Kitchen of Titusville, FL, Ina Mae Quick and Hassel Jackson of Lewisburg, WV, and Christy Vaughn of White Sulphur Springs, WV; his dear friend, Don Woods of Alderson, WV; and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
In keeping with his wishes, Marshall was cremated.
