The flowering of the cross represents the transition from Good Friday to Easter from meditation on Jesus’ death to joyful celebration of his resurrection.
The Lewisburg United Methodist Church has constructed the Flowering Cross for several years as one of the symbols of Easter.
LUMC Would like to express this gratitude and thanks to Kroger for providing all the flowers for both crosses and Greenbrier Cut Flowers for contributing the oasis at their cost.
The church hopes the public will enjoy the Flowering Crosses and remember them as emblems of Jesus’ resurrection and his continuing presence among today’s Christians.
