GREENBRIER W.Va. (WVDN) – The Greenbrier County Commission met in regular session on Jan. 14. The meeting opened with the prelude and pledge.
The commission reviewed regular matters like estate settlements before discussing payments through TIF for the White Sulphur Springs district. TIF stands for tax increment financing.
Amanda Smart with the Region 4 Planning and Development Council was there to explain payment resolution #9. It consists of $300, $900, and $85 payments to Virco Contracting, Inc. and E. L. Robinson Engineering for work completed on the White Sulphur Springs sewer project.
Two more payment resolutions went before the commission. One was for invoicing and other fees, and the other was for the purchase of land and right-of-way by two individuals. That particular resolution (#3) also included a reimbursement to the city of White Sulphur Springs.
Vince Deeds asked the commission for a legislative leave of absence. This leave would be from Feb. 10 through April 11 and due to Deeds being in the West Virginia senate which requires him to be in Charleston during that time frame. His request was unanimously approved.
Also under consideration was the hiring of a new building inspector. Jeff Gray was up for the position and was approved on a unanimous vote.
Shanna Bennett was before the commission for the position of permitting specialist. Her hire was approved pending her background check.
The next regular meeting of the Greenbrier County Commission is set for Tuesday, January 28.
