RAINELLE W.Va. (WVDN) – Pastor Brian Copeland of Sewell Valley Baptist Church in Rainelle is opening their facility at Rainelle Christian Academy (1256 James River and Kanawha Turnpike) as a warming shelter for Rainelle. They will open on Sunday evening, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. and close on Thursday, January 23 at 8 a.m.
“We would like to send people off with a blessing bag too,” said Copeland. He also quoted John 13:35 which says, “‘By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.’ We want to share the loving message of the Gospel of Jesus. It is not about recognition of me or our church. We want to serve people and glorify God. It isn’t about small churches and big churches. It’s about serving people and it takes an entire community to get the job done. We’re thankful for the opportunity the Lord has given us to serve Him by serving others.”
