MEADOW BRIDGE – Maddie Fields set a new career-high with 25 points in a 59-20 win over rival Meadow Bridge Tuesday night. Fields set a blistering pace with 16 first-quarter points, helping the Cavaliers build a massive 30-4 first quarter advantage. Brilee Redden added five points and Preslee Treadway collected a pair of buckets in the quarter.

Fields’ previous career-best was a 23-point effort against Meadow Bridge on December 20, 2023. The senior forward signed her National Letter of Intent to play softball for Potomac State University on December 13. After Tuesday night’s outburst, Fields might want to keep her options open as far as collegiate sports are concerned.

Scoring came at a premium in the second quarter. The Cavaliers outscored the Wildcats 5-3 on the strength of a three-pointer from Sam Holliday and a basket from Kenna Fields. West led 35-7 at the half.

Maddie Fields resumed her onslaught in the third quarter, pouring in nine points. Treadway matched her senior teammate with nine points of her own, and Haylee Ward added the only other Cavalier basket in a twenty-point quarter. West led 55-

Keirston Rozell paced the Wildcats with 6 points. Keira Hanshew added 4.

Greenbrier West evened its record at 3-3 and heads to Lindside Wednesday night to face James Monroe. The Mavericks are riding a 7-game winning streak. Meadow Bridge falls to 3-3 and has lost three consecutive games. The WIldcats travel to Montcalm Thursday night.

GW – 30 4 20 5 – 59

MB – 4 3 6 7 – 20

Scoring (GW) M. Fields 25, Treadway 13, K. Fields 7, Redden 5, Holliday 3, Ward 2, Critchley 2.

(MB) Rozell 6, Hanshew 4, Roberts 3, Hayes 3, Cooper 2, Gilkeson 2.
