LINCOLN COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – Police responded to a possible shooting and kidnapping on Jan. 14. The West Virginia State Police released the following statement:

“On Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, TPR J.D. Reedy responded to a possible shooting and kidnapping at Lower 2 Mile Creek Rd in West Hamlin, Lincoln County, WV. The suspect, Derek Orme, fired multiple rounds into a truck with occupants. The suspect is a 37-year-old white male from Huntington, WV. The suspect then took the victim, Chelcia Orme, out of the vehicle against her will and left the scene. The victim is a 33-year-old white female from Huntington, WV. The suspect and victim are married. Troopers searched multiple areas in Lincoln and Cabell counties with negative results. Troopers are looking for a vehicle that appears to be a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado regular cab, red in color, unknown license plate. Warrants have been obtained for the suspect for 3 counts of Wanton Endangerment, 1 count of kidnapping, and felony destruction of property. The suspect has been entered into NCIC as wanted. The victim has been entered into NCIC as abducted.”
