RONCEVERTE- Just two people turned out and attended the rescheduled Ronceverte City Council meeting on Monday, Jan. 13.
Originally scheduled for Jan. 6 but canceled due to snow, the meeting went smoother and quicker due to not having any citizen comments.
Mayor Deena Pack opened things up with the approval of minutes from the December meeting.
There was no water related business on the evening.
Two ordinances were approved, ordinance 2025-01 and 2025-02. The former was regarding the water tap fee and reconnection fee. The council members thought it would be best to extend that topic to the next meeting when they can have a little more detail and information about it.
The latter is a line of credit from Peoples Bank. Pack explained that some town projects require advanced payments to vendors so getting a line of credit that would require two signatures for any type of cash withdrawal was the way to go.
As the meeting wrapped up about 20 minutes in, council member Tanya Hazelwood expressed concern about a rise in coyote disturbances in Ronceverte and urged everyone to keep an eye out for them especially if they had pets.
The next meeting will take place on Monday, Feb. 3, 2025. There will be a finance committee meeting prior. It was to take place before this meeting, but an illness to a member pushed it back until next month.
