OAK HILL, W.Va. (WVDN) – Engage with the rich tradition of Turkish lamp making on Saturday, January 18 at The Lost Paddle Bar and Grill at ACE Adventure Resort. This is a unique way to break from the frigid cold: sit fireside at a mountain resort, engage in a centuries-old art form, and create a one-of-a-kind mosaic lamp. More than just a lighting fixture, a Turkish lamp is a unique piece of art prized for both beauty and the skill required to create them.

The workshop is for both beginners and experienced alike. Experts from Botany Tropicals in Hinton, WV will lead crafters in this ancient art form. Turkish mosaic lamps are characterized by their vibrant colors and intricate designs, which often have symbolic meanings. Combining thoughtful selection of colors, patterns, and shapes with careful placement of each glass piece, crafters will design and build their own personalized and meaningful mosaic masterpiece.

The workshop cost is $65 and includes all materials and instruction and will begin at 6:00 pm. The Lost Paddle will be open from 4:00 to 10:00 pm and food and drinks will be available for purchase. If a few hours cozying up to the Paddle’s lovely fireplace is not enough of an escape from winter’s grip, take advantage of ACE’s winter rental specials and spend the weekend in a cozy cabin, complete with a campfire ring and private on-deck hot tub.

For details and to register for the Turkish Lamp Workshop, visit ACE Adventure Resort’s website at https://aceraft.com/event/turkish-lamp-workshop/. The Lost Paddle Bar and Grill is adjacent to the lake at ACE Adventure Resort, located at 1 Concho Road, Minden, WV 25879.
