GREENBRIER COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – The Greenbrier County Commission held a special session on Jan. 2. The meeting was called to order and the first thing on the agenda was to approve Ms. Workman to the position of Victim Services coordinator for the Greenbrier County Prosecutors Office effective Jan. 2. Workman started her position on Jan. 7.
Next on the agenda was the retirement of Lessie Lewis from the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department effective Dec. 31, 2024. Commissioner Tammy Tincher thanked Lewis for her service to the County and said she was a great asset and had done a tremendous job over the years of keeping the office well.
Lewis was then considered for part-time employment of 20 hours a week effective Jan. 2. Sheriff Bart Baker asked for this motion to be approved. He said the office couldn’t make it without Lewis because she was so important.
Last on the agenda was the promotion of Captain Joshua Martin to Chief Deputy.
Sheriff Baker explained how Martin had been Chief Deputy before and done a fabulous job and he wanted him to fill the job once again. The motion passed unanimously.
