WEST VIRGINIA (WVDN) – One woman has lost her life following a traffic incident that ended with her being struck by a tractor trailer. The West Virginia State Police released the following statement:
“On Sunday, January 5, 2025, Sergeant J. L. Barker and Corporal J.B. Grose were dispatched to a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 77, near mile marker 87, south bound.
“Alexis Vega, 25-year-old female from Cleveland, Ohio, was driving south bound on Interstate 77 when she lost control of her vehicle. Alexis Vega’s vehicle struck the concrete median barrier and came to rest sideways in both south bound traffic lanes. Alexis Vega exited her vehicle and was walking in the traffic lanes. Another driver witnessed Alexa Vega in the roadway and stopped to assist her. While trying to help Alexis Vega off the roadway, a tractor trailer was driving on Interstate 77 southbound and struck the witnesses vehicle and Alexis Vega. She was transported to the hospital and later died as a result of the incident. Alexis Vega’s next of kin was notified.”
