LEWISBURG- Considering the outside conditions, a relatively large crowd braved the rain, wind, and cold to attend the Shanghai Parade to ring in the new year of 2025.
Mike Kidd narrated the event and as always, did a tremendous job.
Cub Scout Pack 122 led off the parade as the lineup made their way down route 60 in front of the post office and Lewisburg United Methodist Church.
Rather than the typical man in a diaper parading down the streets as the New Year’s baby, this year’s baby was just that, an actual baby, Beckham Erskine, who was pushed in his stroller by his mother.
On an interesting note, one lady walked in the parade and came all the way from Utah to do so.
The weather hampered the parade this year, but as stated above, plenty of folks still made time to get out and celebrate one of Lewisburg’s longstanding traditions.
