GREENBRIER COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – J.B. McCuskey, West Virginia Auditor and Attorney General-elect will address the audience at the Greenbrier County Republican Club Annual Christmas Dinner on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Dutch Haus Restaurant.
McCuskey was born in Harrison County and grew up in Charleston. He graduated from George Washington University’s undergraduate program and from the WVU College of Law. He worked as a civilian lawyer in the Department of Defense in the Pentagon and in the offices of the Department of Defense and Army counsels, as well as at the American Center for Law and Justice.
He was elected to the WV House of Delegates in 2012 and as auditor in 2016 gaining the top total votes of all statewide offices. As auditor, he was innovative in developing a transparent system of record keeping, which allows any citizen to have up-to-date financial information on all local, municipal and county government bodies as well as every department in state government.
McCuskey also streamlined the property tax foreclosure system and created payment plans for delinquent homeowners who were suffering hardship.
He and his wife, Wendy, a Texan, whom he met when both were working in the George Bush presidential campaign, live in Charleston with their two daughters, Charlotte Anne and Martha Elizabeth.
McCuskey is expected to discuss the innovative work he did as auditor and how he plans to help Governor Patrick Morrisey, whom he is succeeding as Attorney General.
