James Malcolm Sams, 85, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020, at his residence following an extended illness.
Jim was born on May 1, 1934, in White Sulphur Springs, and was the son of Pearl Sams.
He was a headmaster caddie at The Greenbrier hotel and various resort golf courses in Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Arbutus “Bootie” Donahue Sams on June 17, 2019; sister, Waline Burdette; and a brother, Jesse Sams.
Surviving are his daughters, Debbie Gaughran of White Sulphur Springs and Pam Isaacs (David Allison) of Cocoa, FL; grandchildren, Matt Gaughran (Mallorie) and Danielle Isaacs; great-grandchildren, Luke and Lily Gaughran; and several nieces and nephews.
It was Jim’s wish to be cremated. There are no services planned at this time.
