ALDERSON W.Va. (WVDN) — In a spirited matchup between local educators and law enforcement, the Alderson Elementary School staff outperformed the Greenbrier County Police officers with a decisive 59-39 victory in the “Brains vs. Badges” basketball game held on Friday evening.
Refereed by Eddie Bowyer, the game drew a lively crowd of students, parents, and community members who cheered enthusiastically for both teams. The event, aimed at fostering community spirit and camaraderie, showcased a friendly rivalry between the two groups.
The educators utilized their teamwork and strategy to secure the win. Key players included Andrea Sloan, Jason Ward, Tanner McCallister, Katie Scruggs, Haylee Shires, Autumn Dolin, Darrell Pilson, Carter Shearer and Matt Tabor, all of whom contributed to the impressive score.
On the police side, officers Jonathan Cosby, Gideon Tate, Todd Williams, Sheldon Simmons, and Joacob Thomas from the Lewisburg Police Department represented the “Badges” with determination and grit.
