FORT GAY W.Va. (WVDN) – West Virginia officials report that one individual has died in a house fire in Fort Gay. The West Virginia State Police released the following statement:
“On Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, Tpr. N. A. Rodgers, along with the WV State Fire Marshal’s Office, responded to 2123 Mill Creek Road in Fort Gay for a fire/death investigation. Upon arrival, Tpr. Rodgers and Fire Marshal Chastain were advised the victim had been found inside the residence after the Fort Gay Fire Department responded to a structure fire. Fire Marshal Chastain will be leading the investigation, with Tpr. Rodgers assisting. The cause of death and cause of the fire are unknown at this time. The Wayne County Medical Examiner responded to the scene and the victim was transported to the Medical Examiner’s office in Charleston. The status of this investigation is ongoing.”
