FAIRLEA W.Va. (WVDN) – Christkindlmarkt, sponsored by the Fairlea Presbyterian Church will once again be selling unique, engaging, and one-of-a-kind items that are perfect for thoughtful Christmas gifts. Chriskindlmarkt had been a yearly event at the church for several years but ceased when COVID-19 interrupted everyone’s lives. Many people in the community have asked when Christkindlmarkt would resume. The answer is Nov. 9.
The talented women of the church have been working throughout the year to make items that are useful, clever and beautiful. Attendees will be amazed at what can be made from an old card, a box, and a magic marker. They will find that it has been transformed into a delightful artistic piece you would be proud to give as a gift. Most items are inexpensive and are suitable for all ages.
In addition to unique gifts, there will be homemade baked goods, most of which could be frozen for Thanksgiving or Christmas. This year, the Greenbrier Pregnancy Center will be selling lunch as a fundraiser for the center.
The community is invited to the 2024 Christkindlmarkt at the Fairlea Presbyterian Church, located on Rt. 219 N., directly across from the main entrance of the State Fair. The market opens on Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. and will close at 3 p.m.
