WEST VIRGINIA (WVDN) – This Veterans Day, join us in celebrating and supporting our veterans and heroes who are proudly part of West Virginia’s agricultural community. The West Virginia Farmers Market Association, in partnership with the WV Department of Agriculture’s Veterans and Heroes to Agriculture Program, is hosting a special Homegrown by Heroes Markets.

These markets will showcase the dedication and hard work of veterans and first responders who have transitioned into agriculture, and we need your support to help them grow!

Veterans Day Market Locations:

  • Community Markets Inc. – 203 S George St., Charles Town
  • Trillium Family Farm – 199 Trillium Lane, Tornado, WV
  • JarHead Farms Mobile Market – Wolf Creek Rd., Alderson
  • LEC Farm and Garden Market – 333 East Main St., Kingwood
  • Mal’s Produce – 312 Old Cheat Rd., Morgantown
  • Putnam Provisions – 971 WV 34, Hurricane
  • Taylor’s Farm Market, 178 Pilgrim St., Inwood
  • Circle S Farms, 3731 Walnut Rd., Chloe

When you shop at these markets, you are directly supporting veterans and heroes who have turned their passion for farming into a business. Plus, there will be swag bags for attendees at each market, so be sure to stop by and show your appreciation!

At 12 p.m. on Veterans Day, we will announce the winners of our exclusive giveaway for veterans and heroes. Three farms will win a fully customized farmers market stall, valued at $1,300, to help them grow their businesses and represent their farms proudly.

By visiting a Homegrown by Heroes Market on Veterans Day, you’re supporting local agriculture and honoring the veterans and heroes who continue to serve their communities through farming.
