Joan R. Corbett, 80, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, went home to her Lord on Friday, February 7, 2020.
Born on October 28, 1939, in Renick, WV, she was the daughter of Cecil W. and Viva Rodgers Burr.
She was a graduate of Renick High School and Bluefield Business School. She worked for C. P. Taylor for several years. She was a 50 year member and past worthy Matron of Eastern Star Chapter # 108 and Emmanuel United Methodist Church. She loved children, and was a volunteer reader at the White Sulphur Springs Elementary Library in her free time.
Other than her parents, she was preceded by her brother, Shirley Burr.
Those Left to cherish her fond memories are her husband of 56 years, Ira Corbett Jr.; son, Kevin Corbett (Patti); two granddaughters, Talia and Olivia Corbett; three nieces, Cathy Hoke, Sarah Miller, and Anita Bird; four nephews, Dwight and Marcus Hanshew, and Calvin and Steve Burr; and sister-in-law, Maggie McDowell.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at 1 p.m. at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in White Sulphur Springs, with the Rev. Greg Scott and Pastor Melissa Shortridge officiating. Burial will follow at Mapledale Cemetery.
Visitation will be held for friends and family one hour prior to service at the church.
The family would like the thank Martha Salse, Joanan Bostic, Tammy Lazzarine, Debra Bostick, Marshall, and Golden Feury, for their help in her time of need.
