Leroy Marshall Walkup, 73, of Crawley, WV, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020, at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center after a hard fought battle.
He was the son of Ray and Margie Hunter Walkup.
He worked as a union journeyman carpenter, coalminer for Union Coal Mine, state road bridge inspector, superintendent for Davis H. Elliot, and a heavy equipment operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Steven Walkup.
He is survived by his lady friend, Melanie “Toby Baby” Garner; daughter, Rushell Walkup of Crawley; sons, James Vines (Lesley) of Hinton, WV, and Marshall Walkup (Jillian) of Asbury, WV; brothers, Dennis Walkup (Mary Lee) of Kansas and Curtis Walkup (Donna) of Virginia; grandchildren, Rebecca Vines, Hannah Walkup, Jennings Walkup, Steve Walkup, Rachel Walkup, and one on the way; and three great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 1 p.m. at the Beaver Creek Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Taylor officiating.
