LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – If the colors of fall are your favorite, the Patriots Motorcycle Club invites you to join them as they embark on a ‘Leaf Peepers Cruise’ on Saturday, Oct. 12. This event is open to the public and all vehicles are welcome to participate, including cars and trucks. Riders will meet at Lewisburg Walmart at 8:30 a.m. and should plan to leave at 9 a.m. The trip consists of 160 miles, with an estimated 3-1/2 hour saddle time and features plenty of twists and abundant scenery that only nature can provide.
The journey will begin as the group heads toward Paint Bank, Virginia where they will make their first stop at Swinging Bridge General Store. Here, they will grab a quick snack and enjoy a 20-minute break before getting back on the road and traveling Route 311 to New Castle, Virginia. From there, the tour will take Route 42 to Newport and Route 460. A lunch stop at Bluegrass BBQ in Pembroke is on the menu before heading back to Rich Creek and then home, at which time riders can use either Route 12 or Route 219 toward Lewisburg.
This event is open to the community and all are invited to attend, including those who are not members of the Patriots Motorcycle Club. There is no charge to participate, but a donation table will be set up at Walmart for anyone who wishes to contribute to the club’s Christmas fund, which is an annual tradition that provides gifts to local families in need.
