James Andrew Baker, 83, of Ronceverte, WV, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020, at his home.
Born on April 4, 1935, in Ronceverte, he was the son of Cecil R. and Inez Baker.
Mr. Baker was a retired postal carrier. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Ronceverte, and was also a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil Jack Baker, Ashby David Baker and Robert Lacy “Bob” Baker; an infant sister; and son-in-law, Mike Sulser.
He was a loving father to his surviving two daughters, Cassandra “Sandy” Cole and Tamara “Tammy” Burns (Curtis), all of Ronceverte. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Charles Sulser (Christina), James Sulser (Lauren), Brittany Burns (Randy), Tracey Hylton (Kenny), and Baylee Burns; and great-grandchildren, Townes and Kori Hylton, Michael Ray Sulser, Krew McCormick, Hunter and Ruger Jack Blankenship, and Rhiannon and Aliyah Blankenship; his furry companions, Little Bit and Puss Foot; the mother of his daughters, Esther Aleshire; special friend, Roxanne Cox; and several nieces and nephews.
It was Mr. Baker’s wish to be cremated. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2020, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends from noon until time of the service.
