Wilma Louise McMillion “Lit” Campbell, 88, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at the LewisGale Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor, VA.
Wilma was born on May 5, 1931, in Friars Hill, WV, and was the daughter of Elza and Anna Spangler McMillion.
Wilma graduated from Williamsburg High School and then Concord College, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Having taught second grade at White Sulphur Springs Elementary School and Lewisburg Elementary School, she retired in 1988. Wilma was a member of the McMillion United Methodist Church in Friars Hill, and later joined the Old Stone Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Brown Craig Campbell in 1999; stepson Steven; and sisters, Wanda McMillion Simmons, Nelsene McMillion, and Kathleen McMillion Farkas.
Survivors include her niece, Julie Simmons Bell and her children, Brendan, Aidan, and Camden, all of Daleville, VA; other nieces and nephews include, Thomas Campbell (Susan Sharp), Mary “Bubbles” Campbell, Craig Walker (Pam), Lary LaGeese, Arthur Frey (Carol), Shirley Morris (John), and Bedford “Skip” Campbell; special caregivers, Darlene Cutlip and Bonnie Spinks; and numerous cousins and friends.
A Service of Witness to the Resurrection will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with the Rev. Dr. Susan Sharp Campbell officiating.Burial will follow at the Rosewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 24, 2020, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
