Joe Lee Tincher, 80, of Rupert, WV, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at the LewisGale Hospital in Salem, VA.
Joe was born on February 8, 1939, in Blue Sulphur Springs, WV, and was a son of the late Roy Edward and Selma Jane Berry Tincher.
Joe was a logger, mechanic, and a coal truck driver.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Agnes “Rose” Fry; two sisters, Shirley Tincher and Marie Tincher; three brothers, Alfred, Curtis, and Buck Tincher; grandson, Taylor Tincher; granddaughters, April Tincher and Jennifer Fry; and great-grandson, Liam Tincher.
Survivors include three sons, William “Melvin” Tincher of Pearisburg, VA, Virgil Edward Tincher of Smoot, WV, and Elmer “James” Tincher of Christiansburg, VA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen May Tincher of Blue Sulphur Springs, and Bertha Powell of Oregon.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, January 20, 2020, at 1 p.m. at the Lantz Funeral Home in Alderson, WV, with Mr. Ricky Tickle officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from noon until time of the services.
