RONCEVERTE, W.Va. — A Ronceverte woman was arrested on Friday, Sept. 20, after allegedly being found in possession of a stolen vehicle and drug paraphernalia, according to the criminal complaint.
At approximately 8:09 p.m., an officer with the Ronceverte Police Department responded to a traffic stop initiated by another officer near the Ronceverte Public Library. The vehicle in question had reportedly been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as stolen on Sept. 19. Upon the second officer’s arrival, the driver, identified as Rachel Marie Honaker, 42, of Ronceverte, was placed under arrest for possession of stolen property.
According to the criminal complaint, Honaker allegedly informed the officers that there might be drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. A search revealed several such items, including syringes and multiple small plastic baggies reportedly containing residual amounts of a white powdery substance. This substance allegedly tested positive for methamphetamines and/or fentanyl. The items were seized and are currently held as evidence at the Ronceverte Police Station.
The Greenbrier County 911 Center also advised the officers that the Honaker’s license had been revoked due to a DUI conviction effective June 25, 2014, according to the criminal complaint. A certified copy of her driving history was reportedly requested.
The vehicle’s owner was contacted and subsequently recovered the vehicle after it had been secured at the scene. According to the criminal complaint, the owner reported that the driver had been permitted to use the car for grocery shopping two weeks prior but had not returned it despite multiple requests.
After processing in Lewisburg, the driver was transported to BARH for medical clearance due to abnormal blood pressure and then to Southern Regional Jail. At the time of writing, Honaker remains in SRJ with bail set at $12,500.
