Virginia “Ruth” Herndon, 79, passed away peacefully at her home January 11, 2020.
Ruth was born on July 25, 1940, in Renick, WV.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and her lifelong best friend, Violet Kellison. She loved her flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Herndon, of 31 years. Also preceding Ruth was her mother, Delphia Cochran; and her brother, Paul Cochran.
Ruth is survived by her children, Debbie Schoolcraft (Jerry) of Buckeye, WV, Bobbie Byers (Eddie) of Asbury, WV, Lynda Byers (Avery) of Lewisburg, WV, Rich Windon (Missy) of Rainelle, WV, Bobby Neal Herndon of Asbury, Crystal Herndon of Asbury, and Bill Herndon of Asbury; her stepdaughters, Kathy Sorrels (Bobby) of Stuarts Draft, VA, and Sandy Lowe (James) of Dayton, OH; her stepson, Jeff Herndon (Karen) of Bradenton Beach, FL; her grandson, Steve Adkinson (Sam) of Marlinton, WV; her granddaughters, Tina Davis (Bryant) of Lexington, VA, and Brandy Baldwin (Brent) of Renick; her special granddaughter, Heather Cox (Jake) of Rainelle; her special grandson, Adam Triplet (Kayla) of Celina, OH; her granddaughter, Audrey Herndon of California; her grandchildren, Cole and Kimberly Windon of Rainelle; her great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Morris, and great-grandson, Hunter Morris, of Ronceverte, WV; her great-grandsons, Drake and Little B. of Lexington, VA; her great-grandson, Bransen Baldwin, and her great-granddaughter, Brikenzie Baldwin, of Renick; her special great-grandsons, Graysen and Ollie O’Quinn of Rainelle; and special great-granddaughter, Paisley Cox of Rainelle.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, January 13, 2020, at noon, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with speaker Gary Cochran officiating. Burial will follow at the Droop Church Cemetery in Pocahontas County, WV.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
