Jane C. Tomlinson, 88, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away early Friday morning, December 27, 2019, at her residence with her family by her side.
Jane was born on November 2, 1931, in Ohio, and was the daughter of Albert E. and Rubina Taylor Hopkins.
Mrs. Tomlinson was a retired telephone operator for over 21 years at The Greenbrier hotel. In the 60s, she owned and operated Fairlea Cleaners. Jane excelled as a seamstress for most of her life, a craft she learned from her mother at an early age. She was a member of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #108, of which she was a member for over 50 years. Jane was a past Noble Grand of the Rebekahs, past President of the BPW, past president of the Tri-County CEOS, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #26.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Tomlinson; daughter, Bessie Virginia Iddings; son, Raymond Danny Iddings; one sister; and one brother.
Surviving are her daughter, Darlene Morgan of Lewisburg; sister, Nancy Pedersen of Florida; grandchildren, Melanie Haines (Jason), Bobbi Morgan, Joetta McKelvey (Wade), Sonya Morgan, Paula Clark, Jimmy Iddings, and Michael McReynolds; 13 great-grandchildren; three nieces; and a special grandson-in-law, Camber Clark.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tomlinson are scheduled for Monday, December 30, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Mrs. Diana Godbey speaking. Entombment will follow at the Greenbrier Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The family received family and friends on Sunday, December 29, 2019, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
