Robert Lee Brooks, 81, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2019, at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
Born on November 17, 1938, in Ronceverte, WV, he was the son of Lawerance Ashby and Lollie Elizabeth Lilly Brooks.
Robert was a member of the Alvon United Methodist Church. He worked as a tractor trailer driver and drove cross country for 41 years. He retired from Werner Enterprises. Robert retired with over 1 million miles accident free. After retiring, he worked for the city of White Sulphur Springs for four years and worked briefly for Shanklin Funeral Home. He enjoyed collecting post cards while working on the road.
Other than his parents, he was preceded by a brother, Charles William Brooks.
Survivors include the love of his life, Nellie Allyne Brooks; daughters, Nellie Elizabeth Wade (J.D.) of Crows, VA, and Cindy Dolin (Kenny) of Alvon, WV; son, Ricky Church (Rajetta) of Alvon; grandchildren, Sunja Craft (Joe), Amanda Kersey (Boo), Adam Dolin (Shannon), Keri Spradlin (Mark), and Shane Dolin; and great-grandchildren, Alexis Richmond, Mark Spradlin, Tesso Spradlin, Ava Spradlin, and Joshua Dolin.
Funeral services will be on Friday, December 13, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the Alvon United Methodist Church in White Sulphur Springs with Pastor Gerald Roberts and Pastor Buck Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenbrier Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Caldwell, WV.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2019, from 6-8 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs.
