CRAWLEY W.Va. (WVDN) – One man has been arrested after allegedly attacking two people and throwing objects at passing vehicles. Clinton D. Kyle, 41, of Crawley, was arrested after an incident on Monday, Sept. 9.
According to a criminal complaint, local police received three separate calls regarding an individual in the area of Midland Trail West in Crawley. Two callers reportedly stated that a man threw heavy objects at their vehicles as they passed by where he was standing near the road. Another caller said Kyle attacked them.
The victim who was reportedly attacked said Kyle began stating that he was god and “they were all tyrants.” He also allegedly asked the victim if she was “ready to meet god.”
When officers arrived, they attempted to make contact with Kyle. According to the criminal complaint, Kyle ran back into his house, slammed the front door and yelled “no trespassing!” The approaching officer gave commands to Kyle who reportedly ignored them.
After attempting to make contact with Kyle via phone and loud speaker to no avail, authorities obtained a warrant and made entry to the house. While in the home, officers reportedly noted a firearm and ammunition.
Kyle is a person prohibited from owning a firearm due to two previous felony convictions; one from Webster and one from Raleigh.
Kyle was taken into custody and transported to Southern Regional Jail.
